Mr. Mafusa Oe, COO of Algal Bio Inc.

Yuuki Hanyu, CEO of Integriculture Co., Ltd.

Algal Bio is an algae R&D platform that was spun out after more than 20 years of research at the University of Tokyo for the purpose of social implementation. Our strength is our ability to propose varieties and optimal cultivation methods that meet the needs of our customers. The potential of algae is that they consume more than 50 times more CO2 than plants during the cultivation process, and cultivated algae can be used for a variety of things. For example, food ingredients, cosmetic materials, bioplastics, etc. Therefore, using algae for each purpose will realize a good life and will be a countermeasure against food crises and global warming. Although there are about 30 species of algae in nature, we have only been able to use only 30 species in industry, so there is a lot of room for industrial use. We can provide a one-stop R&D platform by starting with selecting the species that best suits our client's needs, testing their functionality and quality, and developing cultivation facilities and methods. We have a rich algae library of 70 species and 500 varieties, and we have also helped with breeding techniques, and in some cases have achieved more than three times the productivity.
Examples of use cases for algae include its use in CCU (carbon dioxide capture and utilization) and water purification, and also the commercialization of supplements that help improve sleep.

We provide platform services for large-scale AI device services. Our vision is to create a software-based world. As you all know, Japanese society is very strong and it is very difficult to change, but we want to change this society. Our mission is to make it possible to handle all kinds of physical world information with software. This is a very difficult technical challenge. We also provide a platform for large-scale devices. AI device services such as AI cameras, AI microphones, robots, and mobility services are appearing mainly in the industrial field. However, since it is very difficult to build such software, most companies should focus on the differentiation part, that is, the added value part, and not on the commodity part such as running HIS, reducing the cost of remote operation of devices, and R&D. Therefore, this market needs a platform provider that supports the core technology and infrastructure to support such businesses, and we provide this service. Currently, our AI cameras are used in more than 1,800 FamilyMart stores and more than 2,000 mobile phone shops, and we have installed more than 8,000 AI microphones to analyze sales conversations in the stores. Our value is that we provide the core technology to create these types of solutions and the infrastructure for remote operation of large-scale systems, allowing our partners to focus on creating solutions with added value. We believe this will make the market more active. We predict that our market will expand to more than $2013 billion in 270, making us the largest platform in this market. Thank you for your attention.

Have you noticed that restaurant prices, especially meats like steaks, are higher than they were 10 years ago? In fact, we are seeing inflation-like price increases, especially for meat, and the prices are rising rapidly. The world population is also increasing. But more importantly, people are getting richer in China, India, and Africa, and they are eating a lot of meat. But at the same time, we have limited resources, so we can't increase supply while demand is increasing at the same time. We can't simply raise prices, like the so-called protein crisis. In fact, these are things that are going on, and now there are discussions going on about alternative proteins like cell-cultured meat. The idea of cell-cultured meat itself is simple, basically culturing cells to make meat without killing animals. It has been approved in the United States, Singapore, and Japan, and there are many countries and companies that are very interested in producing cell-cultured meat, but they all face the same problems when it comes to research and development and operational know-how. When it comes to research and development, if you ask an agricultural startup about what's in the culture medium, they won't tell you the inside story. That's where our product comes in. We basically provide the culture medium, the buyer, the cell culture serum, and everything else. So, anyone can start making cell-cultured meat using our product. This obviously translates into a lot of research and development savings. We have clients that are big companies that want to build cellular agriculture complexes on their coastlines, like petrochemical complexes. We also have smaller clients like Michelin-star restaurants. As you can see, anyone can make cell-cultured meat using our technology.
There are cell cultured cosmetics on the market already, you can try them yourself. There is also cultured foie gras, and this method means that no ducks are abused during the production process. If you are interested in cell culture production, please contact us and we can start a cellular agriculture business with these products. Thank you.

Satoru Shimada, Director of Aerosense Inc.

Aerosense Inc. Director Satoru Shimada on stage

We at Aerosense are a Japanese drone manufacturer. Drone users feel that the short flight distance of multicopter drones and the need for a professional pilot to operate the drone are issues. On the other hand, our VTOL drones can fly long distances of up to 50 km, take off vertically and maintain altitude, then switch to fixed-wing mode and transition to horizontal flight, allowing them to fly farther and faster. Since it is fully automatic, anyone can operate it after taking a course. We also provide a cloud service that analyzes images taken by drones, and we can provide all of our solutions, from the introduction of the aircraft to image analysis. As an example, Uwajima City, Ehime Prefecture, introduced our VTOL drone to grasp in advance the damage that may occur after a major earthquake in the near future, and has a system in place to keep it operational at all times. Also, when the earthquake occurred on the Noto Peninsula earlier this year, our VTOL drone was used to check the damage situation on the roads, contributing to the recovery efforts. Finally, we are currently developing a large VTOL drone that will be the next generation machine. The next-generation aircraft will have a payload capacity of 10 kg and a maximum flight time of 90 minutes, more than double that of the current aircraft, so we expect it will also be useful for logistics, so please look forward to it. That's all. Thank you for your attention.

Global Mobility Service Inc. Executive Director and CFO Kazumasa Nakajima

Global Mobility Service Inc. Executive Officer and CFO Kazumasa Nakajima on stage

Global Mobility Service is a company that takes on the poverty issue, which is the number one priority of the SDGs. Our mission is to create a system where hardworking people are properly evaluated through financial inclusion. Ten years ago, GMS was founded after meeting a taxi driver in Southeast Asia. He had no credit, no cash, and no financial knowledge. As a result, he had no choice but to rent a taxi from the owner of the vehicle, and surprisingly, after paying the owner 10% of his total income, he was left with only $30 a day. We launched this service because we felt that it was unfair that people who are willing to work cannot get enough opportunities just because they were born into poor families. GMS will build a fair world where workers are evaluated equally. The main reason financial institutions are afraid to lend to untrustworthy customers is default. We installed our proprietary IoT device "MCCS" in the vehicle, and if the customer does not pay the vehicle loan by the due date, we can safely remotely control the vehicle's start and stop, making it possible to more securely collect the vehicle, which is also collateral for the loan. This complements the initial credit when the loan is applied. We also monitor customer vehicle data through the "MSPF," a mobility platform that can connect to any device, and analyze whether the vehicle is in good working order. Since there is a correlation between vehicle operating rates and on-time payment trends in car loans, by providing this system to financial institutions, we are able to strengthen credit during the loan period. These services enable financial companies to lend to customers who would not have passed credit screening before, and customers can get their own vehicles. Vehicle dealers can also sell vehicles to customers who could not sell to them before. In this way, all stakeholders are in a win-win situation, making it possible to create social value and economic value. GMS will provide these services not only to Southeast Asia but also to Africa and the world, creating a sustainable society. That's all, thank you.

Accidents at heights are happening one after another. This is actually what is happening in Japan, where there were more than 1 deaths from falls last year, with more than 200 people dying. That means that almost every day, someone dies from falling from a high place. We must stop this current situation. Currently, in construction sites, people are working carefully, but this current situation can be improved simply by replacing them with autonomous robots. We provide such services, which can save time, save money, save people's lives, and save the planet. In fact, we apply this robot to oil tanks. We also provide this to Nippon Steel and other large companies. Specific solutions include drones and robots, which work together to do high-altitude physical work. We are robotics integrators. We use all kinds of robots and provide the most difficult integration. We provide Japanese quality robot integration to Japanese companies. The mission of robotics is to solve social problems through mechanization and automation. That's all, thank you for your attention.

Naotsugu Kubo, President and CEO of AC Biode Co., Ltd.

AC Biode Co., Ltd. President and CEO Naotsugu Kubo on stage

We are a chemical startup based in Luxembourg, Japan and the UK. Not only plastic waste, but also organic waste can be recycled chemically through catalysts. For example, instead of making monomers from oil and gas, mixed plastic waste such as PP, PE and PET can be recycled into monomers. PET can be chemically recycled with a very mild reaction, without using organic solvents or precious metals, and the reaction temperature is only 200°C. We are the first company in the world to have already patented a process to produce methanol from PET. We are currently working with companies in Europe and Japan to commercialize it within a few years. Why do we make methanol? Not only is the market much larger than that of existing ethylene glycol among existing chemical recycling processes, but it also has a much lower viscosity, so the operating costs are lower. Not only plastic waste, but organic waste can be recycled into hydrogen and CO, so sustainable power generation is also possible. Unlike methane fermentation, this reaction takes only a few hours and the reaction temperature is 200°C. Currently, we are conducting tests on a 2-ton scale, have signed several contracts in Europe and Japan, and are planning to test on an even larger scale with chemical companies and refineries. We plan to expand our scale even further next year. Therefore, we are looking for companies that want to recycle plastic waste and organic waste and make hydrogen from waste. Please contact us if you have any questions or requests. Thank you.

We are a natural carbon credit generation business. We have three businesses: ESG consulting, research and development, and carbon credit solutions. Today, I would like to introduce you to carbon credit solutions with a focus on them. Why are we in this business? It's because of global warming. 93% of companies cannot become carbon neutral on their own, so we want to solve this problem by creating carbon credits. If we can create carbon credits by reducing greenhouse gases, companies can purchase carbon credits and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality. The carbon credit market in 2050 is expected to be about $1 trillion in size. Agriculture accounts for 20% of that market. So we focused on agriculture. We work with farmers to create carbon credits and sell them to companies. And the profits are distributed to farmers. This year we plan to generate 15 tons of carbon credits, which is equivalent to $600 million. We plan to plant 100 million tons this year. We are looking for partners to save the future together. Thank you.

Today, I would like to introduce SOINN E-1, a fully automatic energy-saving AI product that contributes to the promotion of SDGs and reducing CO2 emissions. The market is very large and is expected to reach $2029 billion by 140. E-1 can achieve energy savings of up to 50%. From a technical perspective, E-1 uses only a single CPU and can learn and update up to 300 AI models every day. It does not use GPUs. That is the major feature of our AI. Unlike deep learning, E-1 can divide a large building into small areas and apply optimal air conditioning control to each area without waste. As a result, it can bring about significant energy savings and improve the comfort of the entire building. E-1 won the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's pitch event "UPGRADE with TOKYO", and a prototype of E-1 is currently installed and operating in this building, the control room of Tokyo Big Sight. As a result, it has shown a performance of 40% energy saving compared to last year. E-1 can be easily used by connecting to the cloud or by placing one PC in the control room. As an operational example, it is currently operating in the Marunouchi district. The initial cost of E-1 ranges from $1 to $3,000. Please contact us for more information. Thank you.
