About

About the Startup Ecosystem Tokyo Consortium

The Tokyo Consortium is a startup ecosystem spanning Greater Tokyo, anchored in Tokyo. Established in 2020, the Consortium was launched to help position Tokyo as a “Global Startup City,” as designated under the Cabinet Office’s startup ecosystem strategy, Beyond Limits. Unlock Our Potential.

Through multi-faceted initiatives, we strengthen and nurture the startup ecosystem, support the implementation of innovation in society, and return the benefits to local communities, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the economy of Tokyo and Japan.

  • The Tokyo Consortium was selected by the Cabinet Office as one of Japan’s eight Startup Ecosystem Hub Cities.
In the second phase, five additional Next Global Hub Cities were newly selected to leverage regional strengths, revitalize regional economies, and connect with overseas ecosystems.

Our Vision

Our goal is to contribute to the growth of the Greater Tokyo startup ecosystem by fostering a community that promotes collaboration among startups, large corporations, and local governments, while supporting the emergence of the next generation of unicorns in the Tokyo region.
